Die Wandskulpturen aus den Händen Nopparat Khumpais verzaubern durch ihre Leichtigkeit und ihre schwerelosen Formen. Doch Nopparat Khumpai erkannte schon früh den ästhetischen Wert der Natur, die ihn so saftig umgab. Nach dem Abschluss der örtlichen Dorfschule beschloss er, das Handwerk des Bildhauers zu erlernen und war mehrere Jahre in verschiedenen Werkstätten regionaler Künstler beschäftigt, ehe es ihn in das lebendige Bangkok verschlug – dort ist es einfacher, als Kunstschaffender Geld zu verdienen und Nopparath Khumpai kann von seiner Leidenschaft leben. Dennoch sehnt er sich oft nach den blühenden Feldern und der freien Luft seiner Heimat. Diese Sehnsucht bildet seine wichtigste Inspirationsquelle und so entstehen die herrlichen Wandskulpturen als liebevolle Hommage an seine Kindheit.
